The Role
Windracers are e looking for someone with a keen interest in flying UAVs, teaching others to fly and supporting related development.
Working within the Training Standards operations work stream, this role is responsible for the instruction of both ground and airborne flights. With a focus on UAV piloting, training, compliance, and continuous improvement the role will work to create written materials such as manuals and enhance education and compliance surrounding safety and operating standards with an adherence to operational and company procedures.
This role requires a flexible approach to both domestics and international travel with potential weekend working due to its operational fly requirements. Typically, 60% plus of this role will be out in the field.
The Person
This role would suit someone with crewed aviation or pilot training experience from a military or comparable background. You should have a passion for learning and a desire to impart your knowledge onto others.
Essential:
• A passion for aviation technology
• Experience in drone piloting with 3+ years experience within a professional flying operations environment. ATPL, military wing within crewed aviation (or equivalent)
• Right to work in the UK
• Ability to develop a training syllabus and material as well as deliver and teach / mentor other UAV Pilots and Operators
• Confident in risks assessment and safety management, and the ability to apply them to drone operations
• The ability to spend time away from home in the field, both domestically or internationally, for up to 4 weeks at a time
Desirable:
• Prior manned or fixed-wing remote controlled aircraft
• Experience with UAV specific platforms and software
• Familiarity with the current UAV regulatory landscape
