Training Manager (UAS – Field Ops)

Drones & Robotics

Switzerland

Airbotics Talent are excited to be representing a fast-growing European drone technology company scaling global deployments in industrial and critical-infrastructure environments. Central to this expansion is the hire of a Technical Training Manager who can own hands-on demonstrations, elevate partner competence, and tighten the feedback loop between field operations and product.

This role is based in Switzerland and requires candidates to be based there or willing and able to relocate. Relocation support may be offered in exceptional circumstances to EU or EFTA nationals, however VISA support for those outside of the region is not provided.

There will be semi-frequent international travel for customer, partner and distributor engagements.

The Role

As Training Manager, you will lead high-impact demonstrations and training programs while ensuring operational readiness across people, processes and equipment. You’ll translate real-world flight testing into actionable product feedback and keep partners fully enabled on both aircraft and software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead live demonstrations in challenging environments, showcasing platform capabilities, autonomy and software workflows.
  • Conduct routine field flight tests; capture data and report insights to improve reliability, usability and performance.
  • Design and deliver structured training (operations, safety, software, troubleshooting) for distributors and partners.
  • Maintain up-to-date technical collateral, including training decks, quick-start guides and user documentation.
  • Provide ongoing enablement and refresher sessions to sustain partner proficiency.
  • Diagnose issues remotely; coordinate repairs and return-to-service to minimize downtime.
  • Orchestrate field operations logistics (scheduling, kit readiness, inventory control) with strict adherence to safety standards and SOPs.

The Person

It is essential you have delivered Training specific to the use of drone or unmanned aerial systems and have prior experience manually piloting drones. Those without practical experience of the UAV / UAS market unfortunately cannot be considered for this role.

In addition to this, the ideal candidate will have:

  • A proven record creating and delivering technical training for complex products.
  • Excellent platform skills, able to explain advanced concepts to mixed technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong relationship-building ability with customers, distributors and internal teams.
  • A feedback-driven mindset; turns field learnings into product/ops improvements.
  • High ownership and organization; comfortable managing multiple concurrent field programs.
  • Cross-functional collaboration experience with product, sales, QA and marketing.
  • Analytical approach to recurring issues and continuous improvement.
  • Commercial awareness of fast-moving start-up/scale-up environments.
  • Fluency in English; additional European languages are a plus.
