Airbotics Talent are excited to be representing a fast-growing global robotics and AI client as they expand their engineering capacity in North America. A key part of this growth is the recruitment of a Senior Software Engineer specialising in mobile applications to strengthen their ground robotics platforms, delivering advanced solutions that integrate hardware, software, and AI-driven features.

This position is fully remote, but candidates must be based in the United States, ideally within Pacific or Mountain time zones. Occasional domestic travel may be required for team meetings, company events, or field-based activities.

The Role

As Senior Software Engineer – Mobile Applications, you will play a leading role in designing and delivering customer-facing features for mobile apps that support robotics platforms. You will have the opportunity to work across both mobile and backend APIs, build seamless hardware integrations, and help set the roadmap for mobile performance and reliability. This is a chance to tackle complex technical challenges in areas such as AR, 3D graphics, and on-device AI, directly shaping how industries use robotics in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end development of mobile features, from concept through deployment.
  • Collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering teams to build user-focused solutions.
  • Drive technical strategy for mobile app performance, testing, and scalability.
  • Create robust integrations with external devices such as 360° cameras and precision GPS.
  • Explore emerging technologies including ARKit, computer vision, and machine learning.
  • Contribute to backend APIs supporting mobile functionality, with a focus on Python-based systems.

The Person

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Deep experience in Swift and the iOS ecosystem, with a track record of shipped apps.

  • Strong background in mobile architecture, testing, and performance optimisation.
  • Proven ability to integrate mobile software with external hardware over Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or similar protocols.
  • Strong problem-solving skills in debugging concurrency, memory, or performance challenges.
  • A willingness to work across the stack where needed, particularly in Python APIs.
