Airbotics Talent are exclusively partnered with an international UAV scaleup who offer solutions into the defense and ISR space. They are now seeking a Sales Director, with a strong hunter profile, to continue their growth in the US defense market. Candidates can be based anywhere in the United States, with frequent travel to customers and end users as well as demo days.

The Role

As Sales Director, this role will sit at a leadership level and report directly to the CEO. Initially as a high impact standalone role, there is growth opportunity to scale a high performing US based Sales & Business Development team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all sales and business development and sales activity of a small but scaling UAS company in the defense and ISR space.
  • Create a strategic sales strategy with defined processes, goals, deadlines and deliverables.
  • Ability to execute this strategy with a hands on and customer centric approach to new business development.
  • Inquisitive nature and commercial acumen to explore previously routes into Federal sales, with a primary emphasis on the DoD / DoW, DIU and SOCOM.
  • Offer a technical sales process to customers, with insights on products, services, data development etc.
  • Create a platform for the growth and development of an established sales structure.


The Person

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in selling fixed wing or multi-rotor UAS in to the DoD and other international defense applications. Those with experience selling other non-UAS systems and solutions to the DoD will also be considered.
  • A previous grounding or tenure in the US armed forces (Army, Marine Corp, Navy, Airforce) would be advantageous.
  • An understanding of the workings and commercial opportunities of the DIU (Defense Innovation Unit), would also be beneficial.
  • A natural "hunter" profile.
  • A winning mentality and an impactful sales and business leader.
  • The ability to be mobile and willing and available for travel to locations across North America and potentially internationally.
  • A Degree in Avionics Engineering, Uncrewed and Autonomous Systems or associated Engineering fields would be advantageous but not essential.
